US consumer confidence weaker in latest week-ABC
NEW YORK, July 7 (Reuters) - ABC News on Tuesday said its weekly index on U.S. consumer confidence fell marginally in the week ended July 5, continuing to linger near the all-time low it hit earlier this year.
The Consumer Comfort Index, which has spent most of the summer hovering just above its record low, fell in the latest week to -52 from -51 the prior week.
The index slid to a record low of -54 in the week ended Jan. 25, 2009 and before that in the week ended Dec. 1, 2008.
