BRASILIA, Brazil, May 21 (Reuters) - Brazil's tax receipts rose to a monthly record in April, the same month in which the country earned its long-sought investment grade rating.

Tax collection rose to 59.754 billion reais ($36.02 billion) last month, the national tax authority said on Wednesday, 11.44 percent higher than in April last year.

This was the fourth consecutive time tax collection rose to an all-time monthly high since December, when the government lost a congressional vote to renew the so-called CPMF tax -- a key source of revenue.

High tax revenues were among factors that helped Brazil's primary budget surplus more than double in March from a year earlier. ($1=1.659 reais) (Reporting by Isabel Versiani; Writing by Ana Nicolaci da Costa; Editing by James Dalgleish)
