TABLE-Chicago PMI index 49.7 in Oct vs 54.2 in Sept

Oct 31 (Reuters) - The National Association of Purchasing
Management-Chicago said on Wednesday its index of Midwest
business activity fell in October to 49.7 from 54.2 in
September.

Economists polled by Reuters had forecast an October figure
of 53.0.
