TOKYO, June 17 (Reuters) - Japanese wage earners' total cash earnings rose 0.8 percent in April from a year earlier, revised data showed on Tuesday, a smaller increase than in March and pointing to tame wage gains despite rising inflation.
The revised figure compared with a preliminary 0.6 percent rise and followed a 1.5 percent increase in March. [JPOVRT=ECI]
It was the fourth straight month of increase in cash earnings, which include overtime pay, monthly wages and special payments. Cash earnings came to 281,700 yen ($2,603).
Many companies, remembering the pain of business restructuring over the past decade, have been reluctant to increase wages.
