 TOKYO, Oct 29 (Reuters) - Japanese retail sales rose 0.5
percent in September from a year earlier, government data showed
on Monday, compared with economists' median forecast for a 0.7
percent fall.
 Compared with August, retail sales were down 1.5 percent on a
seasonally adjusted basis, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and
Industry said.
 Details were as follows (some previous figures may be
revised):
