Japan April outstanding bank loans +1.2 pct yr/yr
TOKYO, May 12 (Reuters) - The balance of outstanding loans held by most Japanese banks rose 1.2 percent in April from a year earlier, Bank of Japan data showed on Monday. [JPBNK=ECI]
Loans held by the country's four main categories of banks, including "shinkin", or credit unions, stood at 455.9 trillion yen ($4,426 billion).
Excluding special factors such as loan write-offs, the loan balance rose 1.7 percent from the same month a year earlier.
