LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Following are five key facts about Marion Cotillard, who won the Oscar for best actress on Sunday for her role in the Edith Piaf biopic "La Vie en Rose."

-- Cotillard was born September 30, 1975 in Paris. Her father is actor Jean-Claude Cotillard.

-- She is the first French woman to take home the best actress Oscar since Simone Signoret's win in 1960.

-- Cotillard's notable films include "Taxi" (1998), "Un Long Dimanche de Fiancailles" (A Very Long Engagement) (2004) and "A Good Year" (2006).

-- Cotillard co-wrote and performed the song "La Fille De Joie" for her film "Les Jolies Choses," also known by its English title "Pretty Things" (2001).

-- Cotillard is a Greenpeace spokeswoman and was among the artists involved in "Dessins pour le climat," an album project that was released in 2005 and raised money for the environmental activist group.
