LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Multiplatinum rap star Young Jeezy is making his feature film debut in rapper-turned-filmmaker Ice Cube's latest comedy "Janky Promoters," which is currently in production.

The Dimension Films project revolves around a pair of shady concert promoters (played by Ice Cube and Mike Epps) in over their heads. Young Jeezy plays the hip-hop artist at the centre of the action.

Marcus Raboy ("Friday After Next") is directing from a screenplay by Ice Cube. They previously worked together on 2002's "Friday After Next."

Young Jeezy, a.k.a. Jay Jenkins, is working on the release of his third album, "The Recession," via Def Jam. His previous album, "The Inspiration," hit No. 1 on the U.S. pop chart in 2006.
