TV critics "Mad" for AMC drama
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - The nation's TV critics have named AMC's Emmy-nominated series "Mad Men" outstanding new program and the year's best drama.
The period drama about advertising executives was honored during the Television Critics Assn's annual ceremony at the Beverly Hilton on Saturday.
NBC's "30 Rock" took the top prize for comedy, while star and creator Tina Fey won for individual achievement in comedy.
The other double-winner was HBO's "John Adams," which won for best movie, miniseries or special. Its star, Paul Giamatti, was honored for individual achievement in a drama.
The awards were announced two days after the shows picked up multiple Emmy nominations.
