LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Former "Arrested Development" star Jason Bateman is returning to Fox, this time as a director of "The Inn," a comedy pilot described as "Upstairs/Downstairs" set at a hip New York hotel.

"Inn" marks the first pilot directing gig for Bateman, who has directed episodes of comedy series, including the Emmy-winning "Development." According to imdb.com, he became the Directors Guild of America's youngest-ever director when he shot three episodes of "Valerie" (1986) at age 18.

In front of the camera, he was recently seen in "Juno," playing the would-be adoptive dad.
