LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Filmmakers Ridley and Tony Scott are producing a psychological thriller inspired by "The Tell-Tale Heart," one of Edgar Allan Poe's best-known short stories.

The $20 million project, dubbed "Tell-Tale," will shoot in early 2008 with Michael Cuesta at the helm. Casting is under way; the Scotts will produce via their Scott Free Prods. banner.

"The Tell-Tale Heart," first published in 1843, is narrated by a person of dubious sanity who has murdered an old man and hidden his body parts under the floor boards. The narrator is eventually undone by a belief that the heart is still beating.

Ridley Scott directed and produced "American Gangster," which opens Friday. Tony Scott directed the 2006 thriller "Deja-Vu." Cuesta directed the films "L.I.E." and "12 and Holding" as well as episodes of "Six Feet Under" and "Dexter."
