LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A southern California dental assistant who admitted stalking "Miss Congeniality" actress Sandra Bullock has been placed on three years probation.

Marcia Valentine, 47, was arrested in April 2007 after police said she tried to run down Bullock's husband, motorcycle mogul Jesse James, outside the couple's home in Sunset Beach.

But a charge of assault with a deadly weapon over that incident was dismissed against Valentine, according to the Orange County Superior Court Web site on Thursday.

Valentine told investigators after her arrest that she had seen every one of Bullock's movies. The actress last appeared in the thriller "Premonition" and romance "The Lake House."

Bullock went to court in May 2007 and obtained a restraining order against Valentine.
