LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Singer Toni Braxton had a benign tumor removed from her breast after she was eliminated from this past season's "Dancing with the Stars," her representative said on Wednesday.

Braxton, 41, knew she had a growth in her breast before starting the ballroom dancing competition on U.S. network ABC, but she decided to go on after doctors told her it was probably benign, her representative David Brokaw said.

She was eliminated from the competition on October 21, and she had the tumor removed a week before the show's November 25 finale.

Braxton, whose hits include "Un-Break My Heart" and "Another Sad Love Song," also competed on the show while dealing with a heart condition called microvascular angina, which involves poor functioning of blood vessels that nourish the heart and can cause breathing problems.

The Grammy-winning singer said after her elimination that she was "breathing better" after performing on the show.
