IBM plans program to save energy: NYT
NEW YORK (Reuters) - IBM (IBM.N) is starting a $1 billion-a-year investment program aimed at doubling the energy efficiency of its data centers and those of its corporate customers, the New York Times reported on its Web site on Thursday.
IBM plans to double the computing capacity of its hundreds of data centers worldwide by 2010 without increasing power consumption, the Times reported.
The initiative is expected to be announced on Thursday, the paper said.
IBM could not immediately be reached for comment.
