BERLIN, April 17 (Reuters) - German airline Lufthansa (LHAG.DE) has cancelled all its flights until 8 p.m. local German time (1800 GMT) due to the volcanic ash cloud over Europe, a spokesman for the company said on Saturday.
“There has never been anything like this,” said the spokesman, adding there were no Lufthansa planes in the air anywhere in the world. All 16 international airports in Germany were closed on Saturday.
The spokesman declined to comment on the cost of the cancellations. (Reporting by Angelika Gruber; Writing by Madeline Chambers)
