Aug 4 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1630 GMT on Monday.

* BAGHDAD - Two U.S. soldiers were killed and one was wounded on Monday when a bomb struck their vehicle in eastern Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

* BAGHDAD - Iraqi forces captured an al Qaeda leader, known by the nickname al-Safah, "the butcher", in Diyala province north of Baghdad, Interior Ministry spokesman Major-General Abdul-Karim Khalaf said.

* MOSUL - Four police and three civilians were wounded when a bomb planted in a parked car exploded, police said.

* MOSUL - A bodyguard for Nineveh province's Deputy Governor Khasro Guron was killed and six others were wounded when an improvised bomb exploded near the politician's convoy, police said. Guron was not in the convoy at the time of the explosion.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb killed two people, including one Iraqi soldier, and wounded 15 others when it exploded near an Iraqi army patrol on Palestine street in northeastern Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - U.S. forces captured five suspected insurgents southwest of Kirkuk, some 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad, and two other suspects in an operation targeting al-Qaeda in Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, the military said.

MAHAWEEL - Seven people were wounded, including four policemen, on Sunday by a roadside bomb in the town of Mahaweel, 60 km (35 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

HILLA - A bomb planted in a parked car killed one person and wounded 11 others on Sunday when it exploded near a cafe in central Hilla, 100 km (60 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

MOSUL - Two corpses were found on Sunday in eastern Mosul, police said.

MOSUL - Gunmen killed a woman just outside her house in central Mosul on Sunday, police said.

MOSUL - Iraqi soldiers killed a militant in western Mosul, police said.
