COLOMBO, May 17 (Reuters) - The Tamil Tigers on Sunday conceded their war with the Sri Lankan government had reached its "bitter end" and said they had decided to "silence their guns", the pro-rebel website www.TamilNet.com reported.

"This battle has reached its bitter end," the Tigers' head of international relations, Selvarajah Pathmanathan, said in a statement released on TamilNet. "We remain with one last choice -- to remove the last weak excuse of the enemy for killing our people. We have decided to silence our guns."
