-- Vietnam is well placed to secure annual GDP growth of 8 percent or more in the period ahead, IMF Senior Representative Il Houng Lee said at the end of his tenure in Hanoi.

-- Hanoi-based Habubank, in which Deutsche Bank (DBKGn.DE: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) owns a 10 percent stake, reported a profit of 360 billion dong in the first nine months of this year, 145 percent higher than in the whole of 2006.
