FACTBOX-Security developments in Pakistan, Nov 7

Nov 7 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Pakistan at 1045 GMT on Saturday.

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN - Security forces consolidated their positions in the Pakistani Taliban's main base of Makeen, in South Waziristan, killing 8 militants there and four in a clash in another part of the region, the military said.

MOHMAND - A roadside bomb struck a vehicle in the Mohmand region on the Afghan border, killing two people, intelligence officials said. Troops killed two militants in a separate clash elsewhere in the region.

KURRAM - Security forces arrested a dozen militants in the Kurram region on the Afghan border during a search launched amid reports insurgents fleeing South Waziristan were heading there, officials said.

QUETTA - Two women teachers were wounded when a grenade was thrown into a school in the southwestern city of Quetta, police said. (Compiled by Islamabad bureau; Editing by Robert Birsel and Sanjeev Miglani)
