Turkish military says hit PKK targets in n.Iraq

ISTANBUL, May 29 (Reuters) - Turkish warplanes struck 16 Kurdish guerrilla targets in northern Iraq on Thursday morning and work was continuing on assessing the damage caused, the General Staff announced.

The statement on the General Staff's Web site said the operation against the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) rebel group, launched at 0800 GMT, had been completed successfully. (Reporting by Daren Butler)
