Three embark on "Death" quest
By Stuart Kemp
LONDON (Hollywood Reporter) - Lena Headey, Sean Bean and Rupert Friend will star in the supernatural chiller "Black Death."
Set in an apocalyptic medieval world during the first outbreak of bubonic plague in England, the Ecosse Films production details the story of a band of brothers whose quest is to hunt down a necromancer.
Friend will play a young monk sent to investigate rumors of people being brought back to life, and Bean has been cast as a mercenary priest who arrives in the same village. Against the backdrop of the peaceful village lies a pact with the forces of darkness, orchestrated by the village ruler (Headey).
The Gothic horror tale was penned by Dario Poloni and will be directed by Geoffrey Sax ("White Noise").
Headey stars on the Fox TV series "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," while Bean is a familiar face from "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy and "National Treasure."
Friend, whose screen credits include "Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont" and "The Libertine," recently wrapped "Young Victoria" alongside Emily Blunt.
