LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Jim Carrey is teaming with "Juno" director Jason Reitman on a comedy titled "Pierre Pierre."
The story centers on a self-indulgent French nihilist (Carrey) who is entrusted to transport a stolen Mona Lisa and in the process falls back in love with his homeland.
It is set up at Fox Atomic, the genre arm of "Juno" distributor Fox Searchlight.
"Pierre Pierre" will not be the Oscar-nominated Reitman's next project, but it is being eyed as a potential vehicle after the possible actors strike in the summer. Reitman is currently producing "Jennifer's Body," a dark comedy-horror written by "Juno" scribe Diablo Cody.
Carrey, last in theaters with the 2007 film "The Number 23," is the voice of Horton in the March 14 release "Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!" He is filming "A Christmas Carol" for director Robert Zemeckis.
