BERLIN (Hollywood Reporter) - English actor Gary Oldman is in negotiations to star in a Holocaust-themed supernatural thriller from David S. Goyer, the filmmaker behind the "Blade" movies.

The untitled project follows a 19-year-old girl (Odette Yustman) who is haunted by a dybbuk, the soul of a dead person barred from heaven, in the form of a young boy who perished in Auschwitz. Oldman would play the spiritual specialist who helps the girl.

The project, set up at Focus Features' genre offshoot Rogue Pictures, is set to begin shooting next month in Chicago. Goyer is directing from his own script.

Oldman, in theaters last year reprising his role as Sirius Black in the "Harry Potter" franchise, will next be seen as Lt. James Gordon in "The Dark Knight," the latest Batman movie. Yustman is one of the stars of recent box office champ "Cloverfield."
