LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - With his sitcom "The King of Queens" all wrapped up, Kevin James is setting his sights on the movie world.

He has entered negotiations to star in "One Nation Under Bob." The Universal Pictures project follows an average guy who inherits a plot of land only to discover that it is a country unto itself and he is now the owner of a sovereign nation.

No director is on board.

James, who was nominated for an Emmy last year for his work on "Queens," is making his first outing as a leading man with the upcoming Universal comedy "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry," which he stars in opposite Adam Sandler. He also received praise for his scene-stealing performance in the Will Smith romantic comedy "Hitch."

After a three-month absence, "The King of Queens" recently returned to the CBS lineup, where it is in its ninth season.
