NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Oliver Platt will play Catherine Keener's husband in a new dramatic comedy from Nicole Holofcener, the director of "Friends With Money."

The untitled project -- described as a tale of family, death and real estate -- revolves around a New York couple (Keener, Platt) who are waiting for an elderly tenant to die so they can reclaim the apartment. They run into interference from -- and then form a relationship with -- the woman's granddaughters (Amanda Peet, Rebecca Hall).

Several roles haven't been cast, including the part of the grandmother and of Keener's daughter.

Shooting is set to begin in New York in mid-May. Sony Pictures Classics will finance, produce and distribute the movie in most territories.

The studio handled the writer-director's previous effort, "Friends With Money," which starred Keener and Jennifer Aniston. The 2006 movie went on to become indie darling Holofcener's most profitable to date, earning almost $14 million at the domestic box office.

Platt's recent credits include the ESPN miniseries "The Bronx is Burning" and the Showtime drama "Huff."
