Imax makes Stones larger-than-life

TORONTO (Hollywood Reporter) - Giant screen exhibitor Imax Corp. will release a super-sized version of Martin Scorsese's Rolling Stones concert documentary on September 21, the same day the film opens in traditional theaters.

"Shine A Light," named after an old Stones gospel tune, revolves around a pair of rare club shows filmed last fall at the Beacon Theater in New York.

Toronto-based Imax was in part put on the map in 1991 by "Rolling Stones: At the Max," a concert film culled from the British rockers' European tour the year before.
