LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - British actor Ray Winstone is attached to star in "Red Snow," a fact-based serial-killer thriller set to shoot in Canada next April.

Winstone will play an ex-SAS officer tracking down his missing daughter in the snow forests of a remote Canadian town. Writer/director Stuart St. Paul's $4 million project is based on the true story of an Alaskan serial killer whose spree hit the headlines in the 1980s.

Winstone is an ever popular face in face on both sides of the Atlantic, having most recently been seen as a star turn in gritty British drama "44 Inch Chest" which screened during the London Film Festival. His credits include the title role in 2007's "Beowulf" as well as gangster movies such as "Sexy Beast" and "The Departed."
