Freddie Mac's Syron says housing worst in century

NEW YORK, March 12 (Reuters) - The U.S. housing market is the worst in about a century, said Richard Syron, chief executive of Freddie Mac FRE.N, the second largest home funding company.

At conference for investors and analysts here, Syron said the push to increase the overall share of single family home ownership may have been too aggressive, and multi-family housing may play a bigger role going forward. (Reporting by Lynn Adler; Editing by Theodore d‘Afflisio)
