NEW YORK, Oct 4 (Reuters) - A federal judge sentenced former Morgan Stanley (MS.N) lawyer Randi Collotta to six months' home confinement for her role in an insider trading scheme on Wall Street.

Collotta and her husband, who also received a sentence of home confinement on Thursday, had pleaded guilty to making $9,000 through an illegal trading scheme. They were among 13 people charged criminally in March with participating in the trading ring, which prosecutors said netted more than $15 million in illegal profits overall.

Her sentence, which includes four years of probation, was handed down at a hearing before Judge Victor Marrero in U.S. District Court in Manhattan. (Reporting by Paritosh Bansal; writing by Martha Graybow)
