July 25 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals involving European, U.S. and Asian companies were reported by 0400 GMT on Friday.

** Korea Development Bank, Hana Bank and Kookmin Bank are providing a $400 million bridging loan for LS Cable Ltd's (006260.KS) acquisition of Nasdaq-listed wire and cable maker Superior Essex Inc SPSX.O, banking sources said. To read more, please double click on [nHKG8562]

** Nuclear operator British Energy BGY.L has agreed to be taken over by French utility Electricite de France (EDF.PA) for around 775 pence per share, a source briefed on the matter said. [nL5415550]

** Genentech Inc DNA.N said a special committee of its three independent directors is assessing the proposal from Roche AG (ROG.VX) to acquire the shares of the biotechnology company it does not already own. [nN24443137]

** SunPower Corp SPWR.O said it bought Australian solar integrator and distributor, Solar Sales Pty Ltd to expand its presence into the growing Australian solar market. [nN24511656]

** Chemicals maker Huntsman Corp (HUN.N) said it was approached by potential investors offering funding to help complete its $6.5 billion takeover by Apollo Management and its Hexion Specialty Chemicals unit. [nN24328279]
