Senator Dodd says still working for housing deal
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The chairman of the Senate Banking Committee said on Thursday that he hopes to reach a bipartisan deal on a housing rescue bill, but that compromise might not be possible.
"We don't yet (have a deal). We are getting very close," Dodd said as he convened a meeting to write the legislation.
"It may not be possible," the Connecticut Democrat said. "We may have to move forward anyway."
