MULTAN, Pakistan (Reuters) - At least nine people were killed and dozens wounded when a bomb exploded Monday in a house in Pakistan used for teaching Koranic lessons to children, police said.

More than a dozen mud-built houses collapsed after the powerful explosion shook a village near Mian Channu in Punjab province.

"It appears that the blast was caused by some explosives placed inside the house," said Kamran Khan, police chief of the area. A doctor at the town's hospital said at least 60 people were wounded.
