G8 summit to commit $20 billion for food security

L'AQUILA, Italy (Reuters) - The G8 summit will pledge $20 billion over three years, $5 billion more than initially expected, to boost agricultural investment and fight hunger, Italian G8 sherpa Giampiero Massolo said on Friday.

The summit leaders are due to release a statement shortly on global food security.
