BANGALORE Oct 1 Israel's Given Imaging Ltd
GIVN.O said U.S. health regulators approved its ingestible
video capsules that help physicians in evaluating abnormalities
of the small bowel in children aged two years and older.
The company's PillCam SB video capsules and Agile Patency
System, an accessory to the capsule, were previously indicated
for children of 10 years and above.
"We do not expect any significant impact on 2009 earnings",
Chief Financial Officer Yuval Yanai told Reuters by email.
In August, the company reaffirmed its 2009 view and said it
expects earnings of 46 cents to 54 cents a share, excluding
items, on revenue of $141 million to $148 million.
Shares of Given Imaging were down 2 percent at $14.63 in
afternoon trade Thursday on Nasdaq.
