Platinum hits record at $2,185 on speculative buying
SINGAPORE, Feb 22 (Reuters) - Platinum hit another record high on Friday as power shortages in main producer South Africa disrupted mining, sparked supply fears and triggered persistent speculative buying.
Spot platinum <XPT=> rose as high as $2,185 an ounce, up from $2,151/2,161 late in New York on Thursday.
