Dec 10 (Reuters) - Cardtronics Inc, an operator of automated teller machines, cut the size of its initial public offering and the estimated price range of the IPO was lowered, a regulatory filing showed.

Cardtronics will sell 12 million shares at an expected price of $10 to $11 each, but existing stockholders will not participate in the offering, it said in an amended filing with the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission.

Earlier, the Houston, Texas-based company had said it will offer 16.7 million shares, about half of which would have been sold by certain stockholders.

It had earlier estimated the offering to be priced at $14 to $16 per share. (Reporting by Aditi Samajpati in Bangalore; Editing by Pratish Narayanan)
