BRUSSELS, Sept 19 (Reuters) - The following are proposed mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures under review by the European Commission, and a brief guide to the EU merger process:
APPROVALS AND WITHDRAWALS:
-- DSV Air & Sea Holding A/S of Denmark acquires control of all of ABX Logistics Worldwide SA/NV of Belgium (approved Sept. 19)
-- ERGO International, an insurance unit of German reinsurer Munich Re (MUVGn.DE), acquires control of the whole of Bank Austria Creditanstalt Versicherung, an insurance company primarily active in Austrian life insurance (approved Sept. 19)
-- Bertelsmann (BTGGg.F) of Germany, 3i (3IN.L) Group of Britain, Gustavo Garcia Brusilovsky of Spain and Gerald Heydenreich of Latvia acquire joint control of Buy Vip of Spain (approved Sept. 19)
NEW LISTINGS:
-- Allianz Lebensversicherungs ALLG.DE and Allianz Versicherungs, belonging to German insurer Allianz (ALVG.DE), and GLL AMB Generali Holding Bank Center of Luxembourg, belonging to the Italian Generali Group (GASI.MI), acquire joint control of Hungarian rental companies TopTorony and Shaza (notified Sept. 10/deadline Oct. 15/simplified)
-- U.S. plastics and chemicals company Dow Chemical (DOW.N) and Petrochemical Industries Co KSC, controlled by Kuwait Petroleum Corp, acquire joint control of a new company active in manufacturing and marketing polyethylene, polypropylene and other products (notified Sept. 12/deadline Oct. 17/simplified)
EXTENSIONS AND OTHER CHANGES:
-- Dutch raw milk company Friesland Foods enters into a full merger with Dutch raw milk company Campina (notified June 12/deadline July 17/in-depth probe opened July 17/new deadline Nov. 24/on Sept. 19, deadline extended to Dec. 1)
