GTC Biotherapeutics drug gets fast-track status

NEW YORK, Sept 4 (Reuters) - GTC Biotherapeutics Inc (GTCB.O) said on Tuesday its ATryn drug has been designated as a fast track product by the Food and Drug Administration for the hereditary antithrombin deficiency indication.

ATryn is being investigated in a late-stage study for the treatment of hereditary antithrombin deficiency for patients at risk of developing deep vein thrombosis or thromboembolism while undergoing surgical procedures or childbirth.

Top-line data from this study is planned to be available late in the fourth quarter. (Reporting by Christopher Kaufman)
