Mastercard says interchange fees probed in Hungary

BOSTON, Feb 21 (Reuters) - Credit-card company MasterCard (MA.N) Inc. said on Thursday that Hungary's competition authority launched a probe of the company's domestic interchange fees in Hungary.

"On January 31, 2008, the Hungarian Competition Authority commenced a formal investigation of MasterCard Europes domestic interchange fees in Hungary," MasterCard said in a regulatory filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
