Mylan gets FDA OK for generic version of Pfizer's Zithromax

May 31 (Reuters) - Mylan Laboratories Inc. MYL.N said it received U.S. regulatory approval for Azithromycin tablets, a generic version of Pfizer's (PFE.N) antibiotic Zithromax.

The approval is for dosages of 250 mg and 500 mg, and Azithromycin tablets had U.S. sales of about $886 million for the 12 months ending March 31, 2007, for the same strengths, Mylan said in a statement. (Reporting by Jennifer Robin Raj in Bangalore)
