Barr Pharmaceuticals gets tentative OK for generic Effexor
June 26 (Reuters) - Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc. (BRL.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said its unit, PLIVA, got tentative approval from U.S. regulators for its generic version of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Inc.'s anti-depressant, Effexor.
The company expects to receive final approval upon the expiration of the pediatric exclusivity of Wyeth's patent on June 13, 2008. (Reporting by Neetha Mahadevan in Bangalore)
