Labopharm requests U.S. FDA meeting about tramadol

TORONTO, Sept 24 (Reuters) - Labopharm Inc (DDS.TO) (DDSS.O) said on Monday it has requested a meeting with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration regarding regulatory approval for its once-daily formulation of the painkiller tramadol .

The company said that based on its analysis and discussions with its regulatory advisors, it believes that it has "demonstrated the efficacy and safety" of its tramadol formulation.
