Time Warner Telecom files appeal against FCC easing AT&T rules
Oct 22 (Reuters) - Time Warner Telecom (TWTC.O) said it filed an appeal against the Federal Communications Commission's decision to remove certain restrictions that govern what AT&T Corp (T.N) charges rivals for broadband services. The appeal to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals was filed on the grounds that the FCC order to partially relax these rules violated conditions of earlier FCC approvals of AT&T's merger with BellSouth, Time Warner Telecom said in a statement.
The company alleged that the Commission erroneously granted wholesale broadband special access relief to AT&T based on an analysis of only the retail market. (Reporting by Sreerupa Mitra in Bangalore)
