ZURICH, March 12 (Reuters) - Swiss pharmaceuticals industry supplier Lonza (LONN.VX) said on Monday it had extended a supply agreement for the active ingredient of Bristol-Myers Squibb's (BMY.N) rheumatoid arthritis drug Orencia until the end of 2013.

The extension of the deal, for manufacturing the biologic agent abatacept at Portsmouth, New Hampshire, will give Bristol-Myers more production capacity for Orencia, Lonza said in a statement.

Orencia, given by intravenous infusion, was launched in the United States last year.

Lonza did not disclose financial details of the agreement.
