Pfizer says Danish court halts Lipitor generic sale

NEW YORK, Feb 23 (Reuters) - Pfizer Inc. (PFE.N) said on Friday a Danish court granted a preliminary injunction against Denmark's largest pharmaceutical wholesaler that prohibits the sale of Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd.'s (RANB.BO) generic version of Pfizer's Lipitor cholesterol treatment.

The injunction against Nomeco A/S requires Ranbaxy's generic Lipitor be withdrawn from the Danish market pending the outcome of a patent infringement suit, Pfizer said. No trial has yet been scheduled, it said.
