Sanofi's Plavix gets priority review in Japan
PARIS, July 4 (Reuters) - French drugmaker Sanofi-Aventis (SASY.PA: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said on Wednesday its bloodclot treatment product Plavix had received a priority review in Japan for a supplemental new drug application to treat acute coronary syndrome. Sanofi shares fell sharply last month after a U.S. health panel advised against approving its weight loss pill Acomplia over concerns it may be linked to suicide.
Plavix is marketed in 85 countries by Sanofi and U.S. group Bristol Myers Squibb Co (BMY.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), who many see as a possible merger partner for Sanofi.
