GENEVA (Reuters) - The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday that it had added four anti-tuberculosis drugs made by Indian generics producer Macleods to its list of approved medicines.

The United Nations named the medicines as ethambutol, pyrazinamide, a fixed-dose combination of ethambutol and isoniazid and cycloserine, a second-line drug used when the disease is resistant to standard treatments.

The WHO's so-called 'prequalified list' is designed to make it easier for developing countries to choose which medicines to buy.
