FACTBOX-Top five warning signs of a stroke
(Reuters) - Quick transportation to the hospital can mean the difference between life and death for stroke patients, but fewer than half of all Americans know the top five warning signs of stroke, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Following are the warning signs:
-- Sudden numbness or weakness of the face arm or leg, especially on one side
-- Sudden confusion or difficulty speaking
-- Sudden trouble walking, dizziness or loss of balance
-- Sudden trouble with vision in one eye or both
-- Severe headache with no known cause.
