NYC pension fund down 8.5 percent in third-quarter
NEW YORK (Reuters) - The value of New York City's five pension funds fell about 8.5 percent in the quarter ended in September, Comptroller William Thompson said Tuesday.
The total value of the funds fell to $95.9 billion (59.6 billion pounds) from $104.7 billion, outperforming other public pension funds, the Democratic comptroller said in a statement.
Earlier, state comptroller Thomas DiNapoli said the value of the New York State pension fund has fallen more than 20 percent since April 1.
