Oct. 17 - Thousands are evacuated from their homes to shelters as Indonesia's Mount Kelud threatens to erupt.

Mount Kelud is located 90 kilometres (56 miles) from the country's second-largest city, Surabaya. 100,000 people who live within 10 kilometres (6 miles) on the volcano have had to leave their homes.

Indonesia, which sits on a belt of intense seismic activity known as the Pacific Ring of Fire, has had a series of major volcanic eruptions over the centuries.

Puja Bharwani reports.
